Eddie Tidwell
Being a Nashville native, Eddie Tidwell grew up very aware of where songs really come from. He was able to read newspaper articles and interviews about the writers of hit songs, not just the artists.
While at Middle Tennessee State University, Eddie secured an internship at the small music publishing company The Writer’s Group where the first songwriters he met were some of the writers he had read about; Thom Schuyler, Paul Overstreet and Fred Knobloch. At The Writer’s Group, these songwriting heroes became his teachers and mentors.
After 20 years and stints at various publishing companies, Eddie is still thrilled to work everyday with songwriters, the creative backbone of the music industry. Today he is the Vice President of Creative Services for Muy Bueno Music Group.
Muy Bueno Music Group is one of the few independent music publishers remaining in Nashville. The company was started by George Strait and his manager Erv Woolsey just as Strait began his recording career in the early 1980s. While publishing dozens of recordings by Strait, including ASCAP Most Performed Country Song of 2000 “Write This Down,” Muy Bueno has also established itself firmly in the Nashville music community with cuts by a broad spectrum of country artists from George Jones and Alan Jackson to up and coming new artists such as Trent Tomlinson and Cole Deggs.
